North London Ballet Academy was founded in 2009 by Tamara Lisak, who serves as Principal. The academy teaches students from age 2 and a half through adulthood. Lisak trained at Arts Educational School, Tring and The London Studio Centre before performing as a principal dancer with London City Ballet Company, National Ballet of Portugal, Wiener Ballet Theatre, and Staedtische Theatre Chemnitz. She holds the RAD Professional Dancers Teaching Diploma with Distinction and began teaching in 2000.
The academy offers ballet classes for children and adults at two locations in North London. Adult classes include mixed-level sessions and Silver Swans classes, which are designed for dancers over 55 with no upper age limit. Silver Swans was introduced in September 2017, and Progressing Ballet Technique classes began in September 2018. Students are prepared for Royal Academy of Dance examinations. One adult class offers a live-stream option.
