Lyon national Opera is a home of excellence, for creation, production and training in the lyrical, choreographical and musical fields. As one of the most important Opera houses in France and Europe, it benefits from the Ministry of Culture’s label “National Opera house” since January 1996. Lyon national Opera has access to permanent artistic forces: orchestra, choir, ballet and youth training program.
Lyon national Opera Ballet is composed of 30 dancers who, from the experience provided by the diversity of the artistic collaborations offered by the repertory, are working on many diverse choreographical languages.
Today, Lyon Opera Ballet is hoping to meet new performers. They must have benefited from excellent training and/or have confirmed professional experiences. They will be distinguished by their excellent technical level both in classical and contemporary as well as by their great disposition for improvisation. These artists will notably perform pieces by choreographers such as William Forsythe, Pina Bausch, Merce Cunningham, Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker, Marcos Morau, Christos Papadopoulos, Lucinda Childs, Alessandro Sciarroni and Marlène Monteiro Freitas.
