Pointe Work (Grade 8 RAD & Advanced Level 1)

Every Thursday, 19:10 - 19:35 at Methodist Church (Fernhead Road)

Students typically begin pointe work between the ages of 11 and 14, once their bones are suffi-ciently developed and they’ve built the necessary core strength and classical technique. Be-fore giving the green light, teachers carefully assess each dancer’s strength, technique, align-ment, foot/ancle anatomical shaping, and dedication through consistent class attendance.

Pointe work is first introduced in Grade 5 as part of regular classes and becomes a dedicated lesson from Grade 6 onward.

Reaching this stage is a major milestone—it marks not just the ability to dance en pointe, but the culmination of years of discipline, training, and passion. It’s a proud moment for both dancers and their families, reflecting a deep commitment to the art of ballet and the technical excellence it demands.
