or the\u00a02026\/2027 season<\/strong>\u00a0, the Rijeka National Ballet Company is seeking candidates for the position of:<\/p>\n

PRINCIPAL SOLOIST<\/strong><\/p>\n

1 position \u2013 replacement<\/strong><\/p>\n

The successful candidate will join the professional ballet ensemble of the Rijeka National Ballet Company for the 2026\/2027 season.<\/p>\n

Job Description:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Prepares, interprets, and participates in the creation of ballet and dance performances within the neoclassical and contemporary ballet repertoire. The candidate must possess excellent classical ballet technique and contemporary ballet techniques; demonstrate a masterful command of classical ballet lifts and partnering skills; and actively participate in the artistic creation of performances through various forms of improvisation and creative initiatives.<\/p>\n

In addition to knowledge and application of primary neoclassical ballet and contemporary dance techniques, the candidate must possess other skills, including: contact improvisation, basic acrobatics, as well as performing experience with video and contemporary digital technologies.<\/p>\n

Depending on the assessment of required competencies conducted by the Director, the dancer shall also participate in Theater projects that are not exclusively or primarily of a ballet\/dance nature, such as: drama productions, opera productions, musicals, educational workshops and plays, concerts, formal academies, special events, and similar activities.<\/p>\n

Participates in all public promotional and advertising activities that promote Ballet as an artistic branch and the Theater as a whole: press conferences, interviews, photo shoots, artist talks with the audience, etc.<\/p>\n

Participates in the implementation of educational programs as part of the Theater’s regular activities.<\/p>\n

Minimum Required Education:<\/strong>\u00a0Secondary school education (High School Diploma)<\/p>\n

Required Professional or Artistic Specialization:<\/strong>\u00a0Graduation from a secondary ballet school in the Republic of Croatia. For candidates educated abroad, another related or equivalent education will be accepted.<\/p>\n

Required Work Experience:<\/strong>\u00a0At least 2 (two) years of work experience in the field of ballet and dance theater activity.<\/p>\n

Required Foreign Language Proficiency:<\/strong>\u00a0Active knowledge of and communication in the English language, including the use of professional terminology\/vocabulary in English.<\/p>\n

Required Special Experience, Skills, and Renown in a Specific Field:<\/strong>\u00a0Renown in the field of ballet and dance theater art, with significant experience in ballet and dance repertoire. This must be proven by meeting the following conditions: performances in at least five supporting and leading roles (minimum of two leading roles) and at least 3 critical reviews highlighting the artist’s excellence.<\/p>\n

A Principal Ballet Dancer is a soloist whose artistic work is of exceptional importance for the development and reputation of the Ballet of the Croatian National Theater Ivan pl. Zajc.<\/p>\n
