Alberta Ballet is a professional dance company founded in 1966 in Edmonton by Ruth Carse and Muriel Taylor. It is a Canadian arts charity and not-for-profit organization incorporated under the Societies Act of the Province of Alberta. The company is a resident of the Jubilee Auditorium and reaches over 60,000 Albertans each year with performances in Calgary and Edmonton. Its mission is to ignite curiosity and imagination through dance training, creation, and performance across the province.

The company presents classical and contemporary ballet productions. The 2026-27 season includes Giselle, Peer Gynt, The Nutcracker, a 60th Anniversary Gala, Beethoven 200, and Snow White. The company’s dancers are classically trained and come from across Canada and around the world. Forty percent of the troupe are graduates of Alberta Ballet School.

Alberta Ballet operates an integrated training institution called Alberta Ballet School, which provides technical training and academic programming for professional division students. The organization also offers community outreach programs, including free beginner ballet classes for youth ages 3-16 in underserved communities and Ballet x Powwow, a partnership with the Indigenous Sport Council of Alberta for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit youth ages 7-12.

[81
68
post-184","organizers","type-organizers","status-publish","hentry","organizers_organizer_type-ballet-dance-company","region-canada-calgary
["GET
