The Dance Collective is a dance school in Sutton Coldfield that provides instruction for students from age 2 through adults. Classes are held at Sutton Coldfield Methodist Church, with additional Pilates sessions offered at Armitage with Handsacre Village Hall. The school was launched in 2019 by Emma, who holds a BA Hons Degree in Dance Theatre from Trinity Laban and a Professional Dancers’ Teaching Diploma with Distinction from the Royal Academy of Dance. She previously worked as an Associate Lecturer at the University of Surrey and held teaching positions at The School of Ballet Theatre UK and Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts.
The school offers ballet classes following the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus from Pre-Primary through Grade 8, taught by a RAD registered teacher. Students can work toward RAD examinations or participate in the RAD Class Award as an alternative. Additional programs include preschool ballet for ages 2-4, contemporary dance for ages 7-10, adult ballet, Silver Swans ballet for ages 55 and over, and Pilates classes. Parents are invited to observe class sharing sessions each term.
