The Junior Ballet Project is an intensive dance programme for dancers aged 17 to 25, operated by Opinion Public in Brussels. Founded in September 2024 under the artistic direction of Sidonie Fossé, the programme provides daily training Monday through Friday and places participants in a work environment comparable to a professional company.
The curriculum includes classical and contemporary dance, partnering, floorwork, acrobatics, improvisation, choreographic composition, Progressing Ballet Technique, breaking, and theatrical expression. Participants learn repertoire from both Opinion Public and the Junior Ballet Project, and receive instruction through workshops and masterclasses with international guest teachers. The programme emphasizes technical versatility, creativity, and artistic maturity, preparing dancers for professional careers through regular stage performances throughout the year.
Dancers participate in outreach activities through the association What Dance Can Do, which makes dance accessible to vulnerable children. These activities include monthly artistic interventions at Hôpital des Enfants Reine Fabiola and a year-long choreographic creation programme at Héliport Primary School in Brussels. Admission is by invitation-only audition for applicants demonstrating high-level classical and contemporary technique, strong improvisation skills, and the ability to collaborate in new creation processes.
