Ballets Artémis is a private dance school in Fontenay-le-Fleury, France, directed by Sophie Ponthier. The school serves two groups: amateur dancers from age 4 and pre-professional students aged 10 and above. Classes are taught in French and English and are available in person or online.
The amateur program includes pre-ballet for children from age 4, classical ballet technique for students from age 7 and adults, floor barre, and Slavic character dance. The pre-professional track has two levels: the Cursus Danse Etudes for ages 11 to 14 combines part-time academic studies with afternoon ballet training, while the senior program for ages 14 to 19 offers full-time intensive training with daily technique classes, variations, repertoire, master classes, and workshops.
The school offers private coaching for exam preparation, auditions, and competitions, plus intensive courses during vacation periods. Students participate in full-length ballet productions. Past performances have included Giselle, The Nutcracker, La Fille Mal Gardée, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Coppélia, Cinderella, and Swan Lake. New students may attend a trial class before registering.
