Central Utah Ballet Academy is a ballet school in Lehi, Utah, founded by Jennie Creer-King and opened in August 2020. The academy offers a classically-based ballet program that includes creative ballet for toddlers and preschoolers ages 3-5, children’s ballet technique classes for ages 6-12, and pre-professional training through junior and senior company programs by audition. Adult ballet classes are also available. The curriculum follows a progression designed to build classical ballet technique while also teaching contemporary dance.
The faculty includes instructors with professional dance backgrounds and higher education degrees in dance pedagogy and choreography. Staff members have performed with companies including Ballet West and hold certifications in American Ballet Theatre’s National Teaching Curriculum. Students have opportunities to perform in productions such as The Nutcracker, with auditions open to students ages 7 and older. The pre-professional program prepares students for college dance program auditions and professional dance careers. Classes range from 30 to 60 minutes for beginners, with more advanced levels requiring placement classes for enrollment.
